The Victoria County Fire Marshal’s Office serves as the primary law enforcement authority for fire and arson investigations, fire inspections, and the enforcement of life-safety regulations throughout Victoria County.
Our Fire Marshals are highly qualified, holding certifications as a Fire and Arson Investigator, Fire Inspector, and Texas-licensed Peace Officer. Our office takes its responsibilities seriously by conducting thorough investigations of suspicious fires and performing life-safety inspections of commercial properties to ensure compliance with applicable fire and safety codes in the unincorporated areas of the county. We also encourage citizen input regarding fire hazards and life-safety concerns, reflecting our strong commitment to protecting the community.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is dedicated to supporting all 11 Volunteer Fire Departments within Victoria County. Through collaboration and partnership, we work closely with local, state, and regional emergency service agencies to strengthen public safety operations and ensure timely, coordinated responses during emergencies.
In a significant milestone, the Victoria County Fire Marshal’s Office became an independent county department in 2025, marking a new chapter in our service to the community. This transition allows us to further focus on fire prevention, investigations, inspections, training, emergency coordination, and support services for volunteer fire departments—enhancing overall fire safety and community well-being.
Our team consists of:
- Fire Marshal
- Assistant Fire Marshal
- Administrative Assistant / Program Coordinator
The evolution of our office traces back to the former Victoria County Fire Department, established in 2009 through the consolidation of the Victoria Regional Airport Fire Department and the Telferner Volunteer Fire Department. As of 2025, the Airport Fire Department now operates under the Victoria Regional Airport, while county volunteer fire departments operate independently and continue to rely on the Fire Marshal’s Office for support and coordination as needed.
The Victoria County Fire Marshal’s Office remains steadfast in its mission to provide exceptional service, foster strong partnerships, and take a proactive approach to protecting the lives and property of all Victoria County residents.
